The Band!

Spartakeith may be a "solo" artist, but he does more than play with himself.

Wait a minute.  That sounds terrible!

Let me try that again.

Spartakeith may be a "solo" artist, but he loves playing in groups.  (Sounds much better, doesn't it?)  Right now, the group he's recording with consists of Seven as engineer, Darcy on "occasional vocals," Jesus on bass and vocals (yeah, I know.), and, most importantly, Amy on keys, vocals, arranging, percussion, and co-production.

Amy Frishkey is an ethnomusicology Ph.D student at UCLA whose Masters paper delved into trip-hop and electronic dance music.  Her studies focus on vocalization and gender, along with the symbolism inherent in their places within specific types of music.

Aside from also being an anthropologist, author, poet, songwriter, wit, and talented arranger, Amy has Perfect Pitch and the drummer's equivalent (perfect metronomic rhythm, something put to a test by Spartakeith's volatile relationship with tempos!) .

If you haven't heard her yet, don't waste another second reading this.  Click on the link at right or go see a Spartakeith show.  (And Amy's solo shows will be listed on the "Spartashows" page, too.)
